Rona's drawer
I have been thinking that Rona wants more independence and deciding how to give it to her.
I have now made a drawer of her dishes, cutlery, cups and straws to allow her a bit of independence in the kitchen.
She still can't reach the food or drink, but she really likes being able to get her stuff from her drawer.

Breastfeeding
Yes, I admit, I still breastfeed Rona.
She is now 29 months old, and still loves her milk. She has it at night, and that is it.
I have encountered much criticism for breastfeeding so long. According to Parents in Law, I should have given up at 3-4 months old. And I have destroyed her independence by breastfeeding..... which is total garbage.
I recently found this picture from The Alpha Parent which has let me articulate to people why I am not in a hurry to wean Rona.
Saying that, there is a dearth of information on weaning older toddlers/preschoolers. If I find any good information, I am going to link it, but at the moment, there is nothing :(

Feedback from the Birthday Project
I got some great feedback from what I did for the Birthday Project :)
My minister's wife rang and said how timely and encouraging the note I wrote was, I am so glad to have been a blessing.
Also, I heard back from the charity to which I sent the books, saying that they were the kind of books they were after and thanked me.
So nice to see that what I did had an impact on people

Home organisation 101: The Kitchen
I have joined A Bowl Full of Lemons' Home Organisation 101 challenge.
In my ultimate wisdom, I forgot to take before and process photos. But I spent the week cleaning out the kitchen.
I culled unnecessary items, reorganised the kitchen and cleaned like crazy.
It feels so much better, and I can't wait for week 2!
All clean! |

My birthday project
I found this blog post and this website
So I decided to participate, for my 29th birthday :) I have worked on it for a week, what a celebration!
Here is the list of what I did
*Made the time to make some doll nappies for Rona
*Helped Rebecca with things around the house, as she is 7 months pregnant
*Took dinner to a church family who is struggling
*Took some food to a charity
*Took a cake to my old workplace
*Sent a voucher to another church family.
*Sent a letter to a friend who is having family issues
*Send an encouraging letter to a friend who has a child with health issues
*Sent 8 new books to a charity who works with teens
*Donated some old linens to a charity shop
*Donated a formal dress to a charity (it is formal [prom] time coming up)
*Put stamps on a letter box with a note that people should use them
*Wrote to the police, firemen, ambulance officers and army.
*Helped a church family with their laundry
* Made a donation of items to the church garage sale
*Called Mother In Law to check up
*Wrote a card to Husband to thank him for all he does
*Wrote an encouraging card to my minister's wife
*Donated to Embrace (a worthy cause, have a look)
*Wrote an extra letter to my sponsor child, Axel
* Wrote a card to my Nana, with a picture drawn by Rona
* Was extra nice to my little girl neighbour who can be annoying and I don't always have extra time for
*Commented on more blogs than I usually do
*Put cards on random cards to encourage people
*Returned trolleys back to the trolley return
*Started writing in a family history book for Mum
*Made extra time for Rona
