This is really where I do most of my work, in the lounge room. I have a mail/paperwork organiser on the wall and my computer handy

Potty Training

Rona is just about ready for potty training (as you can see from this photo) :P
I have been reading The No-Cry Potty Training Solution by Elizabeth Pantley which has helped me to get ready to teach  Rona how to use the toilet.
Rona did a wee in the potty the other day, because if she wants to go without a nappy, she has to sit on the potty or big toilet first. And she did a wee, she was very proud of herself.

It is Spring, so now it is starting to get warmer, it wil be easier to do potty rtraining, and I am going to not stress about it, because she is a smart girl and if it takes a while, then it takes a while. (Famous last words, I know)

James' 1st birthday

It was recently James' 1st birthday party, and I managed to get a photo of the "cousins"



James will be a big brother in March next year, and Grace (right) will be a big sister in about 6 weeks. Can't wait for the photos with the new kidlets.
I love this photo, they all adore each other and have a great time when they get to spend time together.

Ack, forgot the before photos!

My pantry cupboard, I am going to get a spice rack for Christmas, so it is a work in progess

Really bad photo, it is a pull out pantry, which has things like oils, pasta, rice etc. I put plastic placemats on wire shelving to make life easier for me, got the inspiration from fridge coasters :)

Fire Station Visit

For our playgroup, Rona and I went and visited a local police station. Rona loved it so very much, loved getting to use the hose and climb in the fire engine.

I have been thinking that Rona wants more independence and deciding how to give it to her.
I have now made a drawer of her dishes, cutlery, cups and straws to allow her a bit of independence in the kitchen.

She still can't reach the food or drink, but she really likes being able to get her stuff from her drawer.

Breastfeeding

Yes, I admit, I still breastfeed Rona.
She is now 29 months old, and still loves her milk. She has it at night, and that is it.

I have encountered much criticism for breastfeeding so long. According to Parents in Law, I should have given up at 3-4 months old. And I have destroyed her independence by breastfeeding..... which is total garbage.

I recently found this picture from The Alpha Parent which has let me articulate to people why I am not in a hurry to wean Rona.

Saying that, there is a dearth of information on weaning older toddlers/preschoolers. If I find any good information, I am going to link it, but at the moment, there is nothing :(

Home Organisation 101 Week #2: The Garage

 

This week was the Garage, which I had been putting off because it is mostly Husband's stuff... but it had to get done and I am very glad that it is now finished.
