Grout Cleaning

Yes, very thrilling I know, but I found this post on pinterest and had to try to clean my grout.

I have a large kitchen/dining room as well as laundry, toilet and bathroom that are all tiled.
I started in the kitchen, and I must say the cleaner works! As my grout is just the standard grey stuff, it didn't come up like this

But it came up nicely.
Now just to do the laundry, toilet and bathrooms........

I recently found on the Huffington Post some great articles - "The Mom Stays in the Picture" and "Moms explain why they're getting back in the picture"

They explain how important for children it is to be able to look back on photos of them with their mothers (who are usually behind the camera than otherwise).

It has reminded me that I do need more photos with Rona. So I started today

I recently posted a photo of Rona's cousins on Husband's side, and I managed recently to get a photo of the cousins (and my brother Daniel) on my side.




Okay, so from left to right: Rona (2y 5mo), Samuel (7y 5mo), Daniel (22y 9mo), Ruth (9y 1mo), Charlotte (4y 9mo) and Ryan (2y 11mo)

We are lucky enough to live close to my family, so Rona spends a lot of time with her cousins. Aren't they cute

My glory box (where I keep all my sewing stuff) it was made for my grandmother for her 21st.

I really need to do something to the glory box, it needs something, some conditioning or something for the wood, so if anyone has any ideas, let me know :)

I shredded stuff and filed others, so I did a lot of work and it doesn't really show

This is really where I do most of my work, in the lounge room. I have a mail/paperwork organiser on the wall and my computer handy

Potty Training

Rona is just about ready for potty training (as you can see from this photo) :P
I have been reading The No-Cry Potty Training Solution by Elizabeth Pantley which has helped me to get ready to teach  Rona how to use the toilet.
Rona did a wee in the potty the other day, because if she wants to go without a nappy, she has to sit on the potty or big toilet first. And she did a wee, she was very proud of herself.

It is Spring, so now it is starting to get warmer, it wil be easier to do potty rtraining, and I am going to not stress about it, because she is a smart girl and if it takes a while, then it takes a while. (Famous last words, I know)

James' 1st birthday

It was recently James' 1st birthday party, and I managed to get a photo of the "cousins"



James will be a big brother in March next year, and Grace (right) will be a big sister in about 6 weeks. Can't wait for the photos with the new kidlets.
I love this photo, they all adore each other and have a great time when they get to spend time together.
